Leigh Hatcher (born 25 August 1955) is an Australian journalist and currently works as a news presenter for Sky News Australia.

Hatcher's career highlights include working as the bureau chief for the Macquarie Radio Network in the Canberra Press Gallery. Leigh has also worked at various radio stations including 2CA in Canberra and 5DN in Adelaide.

Leigh was also employed by the Seven Network where he worked as a political correspondent as well as a European correspondent when he lived in London, between the years of 1983 and 1985. After returning from London, Leigh took a break from the television scene and returned to the radio station 5DN and hosted a radio show.

Hatcher's job after being a radio presenter was as a senior reporter and journalist for the Seven Network.

Leigh joined Sky News Australia in 2000 as a presenter of First Edition with Sharon McKenzie on weekdays; both are still presenting First Edition.

On 11 November 1975 Leigh was one of the journalists present at Former Prime Minister Whitlam's dismissal speech.

On 27 March 2011 Sheridan Voysey, of national radio program Open House, announced that Leigh Hatcher would serve as his replacement. He started as host on 1 May 2011.[1]

Writing career

In 2005, Leigh wrote the book titled I’m Not Crazy, I’m Just A Little Unwell - relating his experience as a sufferer of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
